ARMANDO PLATA started his career in 1967, in Colombia as a music and movie presenter. During the following 20 years he served as anchor and host of more than 100 TV & Radio entertainment, variety and interview shows. He worked with J. Walter Thompson Colombia as their official voiceover, participating in hundreds of campaigns.

From 1986 to 1989 Armando traveled to more than 35 countries in Europe and Latin-American as producer and host of one of the most popular Travel TV shows in Colombia: “Pasaporte al Mundo” (Passport to the World).

In 1990 Armando Plata emigrated to the United States, were he founded “Radio Klaridad” (nowadays Radio Caracol), one of the highest rating AM radio stations among the Spanish speaking audience in South Florida.

In 1992 Armando was approached by TNT to narrate all Major Golf Tournaments, the American Music Awards ®, and the Golden Globe Awards ®, in real time, for all Spanish speaking countries in Latin America. He later became an Anchor and News Director of CNN Radio Noticias.

In 1995 he founded his company Armando Plata Productions, which specializes in Spanish voiceovers, translations and script adaptations, among other services, while establishing himself as one of the most recognized and requested Spanish Male Voiceover in the U.S. market.

In 1998 he became TNT’s narrator for the U.S. Women’s Soccer Tournament. In 2001 he was the official play by play narrator for The Atlanta Braves® Professional Baseball Team during the seasons broadcasted in Spanish for TBS. In 1999 he was recognized with the Award to the Best Commercial Voice by the Colombian Voiceover Association (ACL), and received a special recognition by California’s Colombian Community, for being an exemplary citizen.

The worldwide famous audio and recording company, Harris-Orban Corp. declared Armando’s Los Angeles recording studio, in 2000, as the “Prototype of the Future of Voiceover” due to its innovation and high tech equipment.

In 2005 Armando wrote “SER ALGUIEN” (Becoming Someone), his autobiography, which became one of the best-selling books in his home country.

In 2014 he launched “GLOBAL HITS” a weekly radio show currently being broadcasted in more than 150 radio stations around the globe including the United States, Canada, Spain and Latin America.
